We built a staffing marketplace so students find flexible hospitality work in-app, employers publish roles and get algorithmic matches, and Kolibrie Next steers fulfilment from a web console.
Insight
Young workers need shifts that fit their schedules; venues need experienced crews. Demand and supply both exist—building trustful matches is the hard part.
Challenge
Differentiate Kolibrie Next with simplicity, speed, and convenience—and ship a first version within four months.
Kicked off in early 2018 with a July MVP target. Kolibrie’s product owner, decision makers, and tech leads paired daily with Sping product design.
Solution
A design sprint framed the concept, competitive landscape, personas, and journeys. Prototypes were tested with each audience, then refined iteratively by an agile product team.
React Native powers parity across Android and iOS; GraphQL keeps data exchange efficient; a proxy bridges into AFAS Profit; background workers monitor contracts and birthdays automatically.
Operators use Rails + Vue; identity and e-sign rely on specialised providers; infrastructure is redundant on AWS. Listings live in both major app stores.
